RockSchool is an action-packed after school music tuition club that provides an hour a week of fun for a whole school term. RockSchool provides an opportunity for Students to discover and develop their musical abilities in a fun and creative environment. The students are involved in playing, learning and creating music based on classic rock songs such as ‘Smoke On The Water’ by Deep Purple and “We Will Rock You” by queen. All arrangements used have been adapted to include parts for drums, guitar, bass, keyboard, recorder and percussion. We encourage students to combine their musical abilities with the rest of the group’s abilities and ultimately learn how to ROCK! At the end of the term we give the students the opportunity to perform what they have learnt to the rest of the school. This workshop is a must for any school that wishes to develop their creative arts department and improve the musicianship of their students.
Latin Percussion Workshop
Workshop Length: 9am to 3pm

The Latin Percussion Workshops takes students on a musical journey into Latin music using a variety of instruments. The day starts with a performance in the morning assembly performed by the workshop leaders to inspire the students for what’s to come in the workshop. Then throughout the course of a day, all year groups from reception up to year 6 will be taught in individual sessions lasting 45 minutes. Each student gets to play an instrument and learns how to play as part of a larger ensemble. The sessions are taught using fun games, call and response and poly-rhythm paterns, dynamic and tempo changes. Even the teachers can get involved!
World Music Workshop

World music is a workshop featuring a collection of different styles of music from around the world. It’s fun and hands-on and will provide an experience of world music through learning about different instruments, rhythms, different cultures and ensemble playing. The workshop ends with a performance to demonstrate what the students have learned. This workshop is a great introduction to new styles of music, different cultures and unusual instruments from different countries.
Drum Workshop

The Drumming Workshop looks at all stlyes of drums and drumming from a drum kit right through to African, Indian and Cuban drums. The sessions will be practical and fun. We will look at how to play the drums and how to play as a larger group. Each class will learn a piece of music and have the oppertunity to play it to the whole school in an end of day performance.
