They’re here! The 6 week summer holiday has arrived! Some of you will be loving it, some of you will be wishing it was september already.

The holidays are a busy time for YouPlayMusic as we run our week long Big Rock Academy’s in schools across the Bradford area.

 We have also been busy getting more people on board. As from September we will have more staff so keep your eyes open for them and be sure to work them hard!

Our Teaching Academy is also expanding. If you would like to get lessons for drums, bass or guitar, or you know anyone that would like to learn a new instrument then send us an email and we will get you booked in.

Well we have all been drinking lots of coffee (except Matt) due to all the hard work we have been doing!

We have had lots of meetings to extend the work we do in schools and advertising our Big Rock Academy holiday program.  The Academy is also growing thanks to all Matt’s hard work.

Hello!It really has been a great week.  We had end of term performances from Key Stage 1 and 2 in Drighlington Primary School, Cavendish Primary School and St James Primary School. All the kids excelled in their performances and wowed the assemblies with their musical abilities! They performed songs such as Smoke on the Water, Viva la Vida, Cant Stop and Valerie. Several of the children’s parents came along to watch and see their little rock stars give it their all. All of the children received certificates and a select few received “lucky pics” for their hard work such as Joshua from St James Primary School. Great work guys! 

Along with all the great stories, we do have some sad news. Today was Tom Brennan’s last day with YouPlay Music. After 7 months with us full time, he and his wife are moving back down south. Tom has been a great asset to us and the kids have really enjoyed his teaching. Especially his dramatic side which earned him the nickname of “Panto Tom”! We are going to miss Tom and we wish him all the best for the future.

Next term is going to bigger and better than ever! We have a new syllabus which we are going to be teaching which is going to be of great benefit to the pupils and to the schools. We hope you have a great weekend and we will see you next week!

Sorry its been a while since we’ve added a post. There’s going to be more regular posts and updates from now on, so keep coming back and having a read!

Its been a great week this week. We’ve bee busy in schools delivering rock clubs and Sandal Primary School delivered their end of term performance yesterday. What a performance it was too! They performed Smoke on the Water, Viva la Vida and Cant Stop. The kids did an amazing job and sounded brilliant.

Over the next couple of weeks we will be finishing the term with performances in all the schools currently involved with rock clubs so if your school is involved keep an eye out as you may get a mention on the site!

We are currently in the process of converting some of our space into a recording studio. This is a very exiting project for us. We are in partnership with Roni and Dan (Peak Audio) who are heading up the work. The studio is due to be completed by the end of July.
