Yes it’s only one week left until the Christmas break! Which means crazy amounts of food for the next few weeks until we all feel sick and decide we need to get to the gym in our “new year resolutions” (which will last a few days)
Anyway, it’s been a very busy term leading up to Christmas. Especially the last 4 weeks of the term as we have Jazzy and Rocky Christmas workshops running every day. Some of us…. (Joel)… are out every day teaching the children rocky and jazzy Christmas carols. Seeing as he’s been doing this since the last week in November he’s done well not to be sick of them by now!
Well we have some sad news……..Mike Harvie will be leaving us on the 18th of December. Mike has been a massive asset to the team since joining us back in March this year. Mike is the school’s coordinator and manages the team under John. We will be sorry to see him leave but wish him all the best in his new job. More on Mike in next week’s post.
Well have a great week and we will see you around over the next few days.

And is FREEZING!! Even in the office. Hendrix has had to turn into an arctic goldfish and we’ve had to cut breathing holes in the ice. Apart from that everything is running well!
Just under 3 weeks of term to go and today we began our Jazzy and Rocky Christmas workshops. All of the team are involved and working hard with the children. Its a busy season!
Last week was a busy week as we moved offices into next door. All of our teaching rooms have moved next door as well.
**Please note that our entrance is now on the main road**
There was a “slight” disaster….while we were moving a cabinet, a tin of bright pink paint leaked out all over our clean cream carpets…. There was a little panic to say the least as we had students coming in for lessons in 2 hours time. After a lot of scrubbing, blood, sweat, tears and hiring a carpet cleaner we managed to lift the bright pink stains!
To compliment our move we purchased a coffee maker to enjoy our Starbucks Christmas blend coffee. So if you’re in for a lesson, then feel free to make yourself a brew!
See you soon

Only 6 weeks of term left before the Christmas holidays!
Matt, Dave and James spent the half term in Cavendish Primary School running a Big Rock Academy. The children did a great job and recorded 5 songs plus their own written songs. They also did a small performance to their parents who where really impressed with their progress.
Christmas is fast approaching and we’ve been on the gingerbread latte’s from starbucks to get us in the Christmas spirit…..Bit early we know but it has to be done!
We are working hard with all the children preparing for the end of term and the performances. All the children are doing really well and we are confident that the perfomances are going to be incredible.
So here’s to the next 6 weeks and plenty of gingerbread latte’s to help us along the way!

Its been an early start for most of the team this morning. Up at 6:30am to head over to Leeds for a performance at Kerr Mackie Primary School. We performed 4 songs to 250 Key Stage 2 children who really enjoyed it and got involved.
Its a long term leading up to chirstmas and all our workshops are in full swing and the children are doing a great job learning the songs in preparation for their performances.
Next week we will be in Cavendish primary school and Springwood Primary School for our Big Rock Academy’s over the half term.
Its a busy term but all the staff are working hard with a special thanks to Starbucks Coffee.
Hope to see you soon guys!

Hey everyone!
Just thought i’d give a quick update on what we have been up to over the last week.
All week, our workshops were back in full swing. The kids have been really enjoying it and some that we had from last year have remembered a lot of what we taught them which is really great.
We also ran a 2 day workshop in Low Moor Primary School. Each class learned the song “I love rock & roll”. They had the opportunity to play drums and guitar and also sing. The recordings are now available online for download.
Its been a great start to the term so far and its only going to get better.
See you in school!
Matt
